Tree node controls
Overview
Tree nodes are the sections of your working paper file. A parent node can contain child nodes. Child nodes sit under a parent.
Add a parent node
- Type the new node name in the tree node title box.
- Click Add Parent Node.
- The node is added at the main tree level.
Parent node names must be unique at the same level.
Add a child node
- Select the parent node.
- Type the child node name in the tree node title box.
- Click Add Child Node.
- The child node is added under the selected parent.
Child node names must be unique under the same parent. The same child name can be used under a different parent.
Rename a node
- Select the node.
- Change the name in the title box.
- Click Rename Node or press Enter if supported.
Move nodes
Use the move buttons or drag where available to reorder nodes. Child nodes should normally be moved within the same parent unless the system allows a controlled move to another parent.
Flag a node
Use Flag Node to mark a node that needs attention. Use it for important sections, missing evidence or areas that should be reviewed carefully.
Mark as not applicable
Use Mark as Not Applicable when a section does not apply to the file. If a parent is marked not applicable, its child nodes may also be marked not applicable.
Exclude from export
Use Exclude from Export when a node should remain in the file but should not be included in an export or reviewer package.
Delete and recycle bin
Deleted nodes are moved to the recycle bin first. From the recycle bin they can be restored or permanently deleted, depending on permissions.
