Overview

Review files allow you to share a controlled version of a working paper file with an external reviewer.

A reviewer can view the shared review file, open documents, download a package where allowed and add review points or comments based on their access.

Add a reviewer

  1. Open Reviewers.
  2. Click New Reviewer.
  3. Enter the reviewer name and email address.
  4. Save the reviewer.
  5. Send an invitation if required.

If the reviewer already has an account, they can sign in to the reviewer portal using their existing details.

Create a review file

  1. Open the working paper file.
  2. Make sure the tree and documents are ready for review.
  3. Exclude any nodes that should not be shared.
  4. Open the review file creation page.
  5. Select the reviewer and review file options.
  6. Create the review file.

What reviewers can do

Depending on settings, reviewers can:

  • View the tree snapshot
  • Preview documents
  • Add review points
  • Mark points as needing clearing
  • View author comments
  • Download the review package

Important notes

Review files are controlled snapshots. If the main file changes later, you may need to create or share an updated review file.

Tips

  • Exclude private or irrelevant nodes before creating the review file.
  • Add author comments to explain what the reviewer should look at.
  • Use clear reviewer names and email addresses.
