Recycle bin, restore and permanent delete
Overview
When a tree node is deleted, it is normally moved to the recycle bin instead of being removed immediately.
This gives users a chance to restore the node if it was deleted by mistake.
Delete a node
- Select the node.
- Click Delete Node.
- Confirm the action.
- The node is moved to the recycle bin.
Restore a node
- Open or expand the recycle bin.
- Select the deleted node.
- Click Restore.
- The node is returned to the active tree where supported.
Permanently delete a node
- Select one or more nodes in the recycle bin.
- Click Delete Permanently.
- Confirm the action.
Permanent delete cannot normally be undone.
Multi-select permanent delete
Where supported, use Control-click to select multiple recycle bin nodes and permanently delete them together.
Tips
- Check the selected nodes before deleting permanently.
- Restore nodes if you are not sure.
- Use permanent delete only when you are confident the items are no longer required.
