Add and edit Microsoft Office documents
Overview
The Working Papers app can create and manage Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents for a selected tree node.
Office documents are designed for online editing where cloud storage is connected.
Add a Word document
- Select the tree node.
- Click the Word document button.
- Enter or confirm the document name if prompted.
- The document is created and linked to the selected node.
Add an Excel document
- Select the tree node.
- Click the Excel document button.
- Create the workbook.
Add a PowerPoint document
- Select the tree node.
- Click the PowerPoint document button.
- Create the presentation.
Open in Microsoft
Some Microsoft documents open in Microsoft 365 instead of inside the preview panel. Use Open in Microsoft to view or edit the document online.
Rename Office documents
Use the document rename option if you need to change the display name. Avoid using characters that are not allowed in file names.
Cloud sync
Office documents may need cloud sync to complete before a file can be finalised. If a document is waiting for sync, open the Cloud Sync page and retry where available.
Tips
- Use meaningful document names.
- Wait for cloud sync to finish before finalising a file.
- Download a copy if you need an offline backup.
