Understand the three main panels in File Explorer: tree nodes, document preview and review points.

Tip: use keywords like account, business, subscription, users, roles.

Overview

File Explorer is the main working screen for a working paper file. It is split into three main areas.

Left panel: Toolbox and Tree

The left panel contains:

  • Tree node search
  • Expand all and collapse all controls
  • Hide not applicable option
  • Tree node title box
  • Selected node label
  • Tree structure
  • Toolbar buttons for node actions

Use this panel to create, rename, move, flag, delete and organise file sections.

Middle panel: Document preview

The middle panel shows:

  • Upload controls
  • Add text document
  • Add Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint document
  • Readiness and completion controls
  • Document preview
  • Document action buttons such as open, edit, email, download or delete

This panel changes depending on the selected tree node and selected document.

Right panel: Review points

The right panel shows:

  • Comments
  • Review points
  • Author comments
  • Replies
  • Filter options
  • Add comment or review point button

The panel can be collapsed when more space is needed.

Tips

  • Select a tree node before uploading documents.
  • Use the preview panel to check documents without leaving the file.
  • Collapse panels when you need more screen space.
  • Use search when the tree has many nodes.
