Overview

A working paper file is the main workspace where you organise sections, upload documents and manage review activity.

You can create a file:

  • From scratch as a blank file
  • From an industry template

Template-created files are not locked. You can edit the tree structure after the file is created.

How to create a blank file

  1. Open New Working Paper File.
  2. Select the client.
  3. Select the filing cabinet.
  4. Enter the file name.
  5. Leave Create from template unticked.
  6. Click Save.

How to create from a template

  1. Open New Working Paper File.
  2. Select the client and filing cabinet.
  3. Enter the file name.
  4. Tick Create from template.
  5. Select the industry.
  6. Select the template.
  7. Click Save.

Naming the file

Use a name that makes the file easy to identify later. Examples:

  • Supplier Compliance File 2026
  • Project Launch File
  • Client Onboarding File
  • Property Records 2026
  • Internal Review File
