Security Questions — Help
Purpose
Use the SecurityQuestions.aspx page to set three security questions and answers for your account.
After you save, the system generates a one-time security code that you must keep safe — that code plus your answers are required to recover/unblock the account.
What you will see
- Three question dropdowns (Security Question 1/2/3) and three answer fields (Your Answer).
- Informational warning that “All fields are required.”
- An important notice: a unique security code will be generated and displayed after saving.
- A hidden information panel (PanelUnblockInfo) that appears after a successful save; it contains:
- the generated code
- a Copy Information button
- a Sign In button
Step-by-step: set your security questions
- Choose 3 different questions from the dropdowns.
Tip: pick distinct questions so answers are independent.
- Enter a clear answer for each question in the corresponding answer box. All fields are required.
- Each answer accepts up to 60 characters
- Record answers exactly as you type them (case, spaces and punctuation matter)
- Click the Save button.
- After saving, the page will display your generated security info in the Unblock Info area.
- Click Copy Information to copy the text to your clipboard, or use Sign In to continue
- Save the info immediately in a secure place (see recommendations below)
What happens next (why this matters)
- If your account is ever blocked for security reasons, support will not be able to unblock your account for you.
- To regain access you will need:
- the answers you set here, and
- the generated security code shown after saving
- Without both the correct answers and the code, your account cannot be unblocked by support.
How to store the generated code and answers (recommendations)
- Use a reputable password manager (preferred) — save each answer and the generated code in a secure note.
- Print and store a paper copy in a safe place if you prefer an offline copy.
- Store the information encrypted if using notes or cloud storage.
- Do not email the code or answers in plain text and do not share them with anyone.
Choosing good answers (security tips)
- Don’t use easily discoverable facts (public social media, common names, birthdays).
- Use long answers or passphrase-style answers for better security (e.g.,
GreenBicycle#1979!). - Keep answers memorable but hard to guess; you can use a mnemonic or password manager to store them.
- Record case and punctuation exactly — the system may require exact matches.
Common messages & problems
- “All fields are required.” — you must select and answer all three questions before saving.
Save fails or no code appears
- Reload the page and try again.
- Ensure you are still signed in.
- If the Copy Information button fails, manually select and copy the displayed text.
Lost code or answers
- If you lose both, account recovery is severely limited — support cannot unblock the account. Store the code now to avoid this outcome.
Accessibility & keyboard tips
- Use Tab / Shift+Tab to move between fields and Enter to activate buttons.
- The Copy Information button uses browser clipboard APIs; if copy is blocked, you can select and copy the text manually.
Troubleshooting checklist
- If Save reports an error:
- Confirm all three questions are selected and all three answers are filled
- Check that none of your answers exceed 60 characters
- Try a different browser or clear cache/cookies if UI behaves unexpectedly
- If you cannot see the generated code after saving:
- Make sure popups/scripts aren’t blocked
- Try the Save action again and copy the information immediately
Quick do / don’t summary
- Do: choose distinct, hard-to-guess answers; copy and securely store the generated code; record answers exactly.
- Don’t: share the code or answers; rely on support to unblock your account if you lose both.
