Security Questions

Overview

Use Security Questions to set up extra account recovery protection.

On this page, you choose three security questions and enter your answers. After saving, a one-time security code is generated. You must keep this code safe, together with your answers, because both may be needed if you ever need to recover or unblock your account.

Quick start

  1. Choose three different security questions.
  2. Enter an answer for each one.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Copy the generated security code shown after saving.
  5. Store the code and your answers somewhere secure.

Main sections / fields / actions

Security questions

Choose three different questions from the available lists.

Using different questions makes your account recovery details stronger and more reliable.

Your answers

Enter an answer for each selected question.

All answer fields are required.

Keep in mind:

  • each answer can be up to 60 characters
  • answers should be recorded exactly as entered
  • spelling, spaces, capital letters, and punctuation may matter

Save

Click Save when all three questions and answers have been completed.

If the information is accepted, your security setup is saved and your one-time security code is shown.

Security code

After saving successfully, a one-time security code is displayed.

This code is important. Keep it somewhere safe as soon as it appears.

Copy Information

Use Copy Information to copy the displayed security details.

If copying does not work, copy the information manually and store it safely.

After saving your security questions and code, use Sign In to continue to your account.

Why this matters

If your account is ever blocked or needs recovery, you may need:

  • the answers to your security questions
  • the generated security code

Without both, recovering access may be much more difficult or may not be possible.

For that reason, it is very important to store both the answers and the code securely.

Tips for choosing good answers

Use answers that are hard to guess

Avoid answers based on information that other people could easily find, such as:

  • birthdays
  • common family names
  • public social media details
  • simple favourites or obvious facts

Make answers memorable but secure

Choose answers that you can remember, but that are not easy for others to guess.

Longer answers are often stronger.

Record answers exactly

If you need these answers later, they may need to match exactly what you entered originally.

Store them with the same spelling, spacing, and punctuation.

How to store your security code safely

Use a secure password manager

A password manager is one of the safest ways to store the generated code and your answers.

Keep an offline backup if needed

You may also want to keep a paper copy in a secure location.

Do not share the code

Do not email, message, or share the code or your answers in plain text unless you are using a secure method that you trust.

Troubleshooting

I cannot save my security questions

Make sure:

  • all three questions are selected
  • all three answer fields are completed
  • none of the answers are longer than 60 characters

Then try saving again.

I saved the questions but do not see the security code

Refresh carefully only if needed, but first check whether the code is displayed lower down on the page.

If the page appears incomplete, try again in a different browser.

Copy Information is not working

Select the displayed information manually and copy it yourself.

Then store it somewhere secure straight away.

I lost my security code

If you lose the code, account recovery may become much harder.

Store it as soon as it is generated to avoid this risk.

I lost both my code and my answers

Without both pieces of information, recovering or unblocking your account may not be possible.

This is why storing them securely is essential.
